People find it far easier to forgive others for being wrong than being right. - J. K. Rowling
Don't gloat; it makes forgiveness even more difficult.

True Affection
Passion is seldom the end of any story, for it cannot long endure if it is not soon supplemented with true affection and mutual respect. - Kathryn L. Nelson

Speechless
A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous. - Ingrid Bergman
It's not a good idea to tell your spouse that a kiss is a trick.

Lack of Self
Immature love is a symptom of too little self. An emotionally immature person doesn’t feel comfortable and secure enough with him or her self to go through life without a romantic partner. He needs a romantic partner to “complete” his self. If the romantic partner pulls or grows away from him, he becomes threatened and lashes out in some way. This is what’s going on in cases of physical or verbal abuse. Physical and verbal abuse are tactics of intimidation. The person who victimizes his “loved one” with these tactics is not being “selfish.” Quite the opposite: he’s exhibiting a lack of self. - Michael J. Hurd

The Marriage Gamble
Marriage is a safe way to gamble--if you win, you win a pile, and if you lose, you don't lose anything, only the privilege of living dismally alone, and soaking your own feet. - Josh Billings
..... Don't fall into that old trap of imagining what you don't have is better than what you have.

A Simple Pleasure
A simple enough pleasure, surely, to have breakfast alone with one's husband, but how seldom married people in the midst of life achieve it. - Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Don't just take time; make time.

Small Faults
To remove small faults within due vehemence, is as absurd as if a man should take a great hammer to kill a fly on his friend's forehead. - Unknown

Valentines Day
If the universe has any purpose more important then topping a woman you love and making a baby with her hearty help, I have never heard of it. - Robert A. Heinlein

The most important work you and I will ever do will be within the walls of our own homes. - Harold B. Lee

Nutrition Event
The act of nutrition is not a purely physiological event... The family meal is a formality that cultivates in us... a capacity for sharing, generosity, thoughtfulness, a talent for civilized conversation. - Francine Du Plessix Gray

Toothpaste Once Again
There should be no yelling in the home unless there is a fire. - David Oman McKay
In the end it really doesn't matter which end of the toothpaste tube is squeezed.

My Dreams
Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
We all enter marriage poor.

The Prize
Great sex is the prize, not the substance of a good marriage. - Dr. Laura Schlessinger

Security Now
The only real security is not in owning or possessing, not in demanding or expecting, not in hoping, even. Security in a relationship lies neither in looking back to what it was, nor forward to what it might be, but living in the present and accepting it as it is now. - Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Remember that both are responsible for making the relationship what it is now and that each has different needs.

Rugged and Fragile Friendships
Men kick friendship around like a football, but it doesn't seem to crack. Women treat it like glass and it goes to pieces. - Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Think about this relative to male/female relationships. Obviously some tolerance is in order on both sides.

Do Not Quarrel
