Honesty

The trite saying that honesty is the best policy has met with the just criticism that honesty is not policy. The real honest man is honest from conviction of what is right, not from policy. - Robert E. Lee

It follows then that the man who believes there is no absolute right or wrong cannot be truly honest.

Right or wrong is instilled in us during growing up. If the information taught us is believed to be right by those who teach, it is then thought to be right until proven otherwise. It is only those who question these teachings to find the core facts that make them right or wrong. Only with the true facts can one be honest with himself and others. Those who do not research the truth lead their lives blindly spreading mis-information believed to be correct. Therefore, believing themselves honest.
